The restoration of windows at QMUL Stocks Court required a balance of speed and quality to ensure that scaffolding could be erected and struck efficiently ahead of the new student term. The programme was driven by fixed academic deadlines, with careful coordination required to maintain progress.

Scope of Works

Strip back and redecorate approximately 150 windows and entrance doors

Strip back and redecorate all metal railings

Key Challenges

Due to the project’s close proximity to public areas, maintaining safety was critical. This was achieved through the installation of Chapter 8 barriers, extensive signage, and the maintenance of safe pedestrian walkways, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and members of the public.

Results

The project was delivered on time for the new academic term. The completed works preserved the existing windows for the foreseeable future and were carried out with minimal disruption to both tenants and the surrounding public areas.
