Challenges & Solutions
Works were delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring careful workforce segregation and management. Operatives were split across separate floors to maintain social distancing, allowing any affected areas to be isolated if required. The programme allowed no extension due to student occupation dates.
Results
Through effective sequencing and labour management, the programme was accelerated by two weeks. The project was completed with no issues raised by the client or campus staff, with both the university and the main contractor expressing satisfaction with the scale, organisation, and quality of the works delivered.
