51 Lothbury
Project Brief
Pembroke & Bull Contracts Ltd was appointed by AOC to work closely with the client team to deliver decorative works throughout 51 Lothbury, a prominent Grade II listed office building in the City of London. The project focused on enhancing internal office spaces and the main entrance while preserving the building’s neo-classical character and high-end corporate presence.
Historical Context
51 Lothbury is a distinguished Grade II listed building, recognised for its neo-classical façade and column-flanked entrance. Centrally located within the City of London, the building forms part of an established commercial streetscape and has long provided high-quality office accommodation. Maintaining the architectural integrity of the building was a key consideration throughout the works.
Scope of Works
The scope of works included the decoration of multiple office suites across the building, as well as refurbishment of the main entrance areas. Finishes were carefully selected and applied to align with the building’s architectural style and the expectations of modern commercial occupiers.
Key Challenges
Works were undertaken within a live office environment, requiring careful coordination to minimise disruption to occupants. Out-of-hours working and phased programming were implemented where necessary, ensuring business continuity while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Overall Output
The project was completed within the agreed 10-week programme and to a high standard. The refreshed office spaces and entrance areas enhanced the building’s presentation, with positive feedback received from the client and occupiers. The works successfully balanced heritage preservation with modern commercial requirements.
