Project Brief
Pembroke & Bull Contracts Ltd was appointed to undertake decoration works to a residential development comprising 74 apartments arranged over 13 floors, including common areas, the main entrance, and back-of-house spaces. The building occupies a prominent position within the Regent’s Canal and King’s Cross Conservation Areas, forming part of the gateway to the wider Camley Street regeneration area.
Scope of Works
Decoration to 74 apartments from lower ground level to 11th floor
Decoration to reception and main entrance areas
Decoration to common and back-of-house areas
Spray finishing to exposed services within CAT B fit-out areas
Key Challenges
With new tenants scheduled to move in, all apartments were required to be completed to programme without delay. Works were carefully sequenced from top to bottom floors in close coordination with the main contractor, allowing mastic application and builders’ cleans to follow efficiently. Works were also delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring workforce segregation across floors to maintain social distancing.
Overall Outcome
The project was completed in line with the agreed programme, enabling tenants to move in on time. Following the successful handover of the north tower, Pembroke & Bull Contracts Ltd was awarded further works of a similar nature within the south tower.
